6 trends to adopt for your home this fall

Fall is fast approaching and many of us are looking for a touch of freshness in our home. Why not opt for changes that will give the room a new look and bring warmth?

Here are 6 trends for the home to incorporate into any room of your property. They all have one thing in common: they are user-friendly. Perfect for fall!

Convex mirrors

Although practical, mirrors also have a decorative function. They can support a decor and sometimes even become the center of attention. The new trend in mirrors is original frames.

For example, you can find them in solid and corrugated wood or designed with layers of wood or plastic. The shapes offered are also amazing, for example in the shape of a puzzle piece or a deformed oval.

All indications are that the trend of mirrors with straight borders is leaving us.

Wooden ceilings

In the 1970s, wood was used for floors, walls and ceilings. Then, this trend was avoided for a few decades.  However, we could see its return!

But this time, instead of covering all the surfaces, the wood would be on the ceiling and on one or two walls of the same room. For example, choose floating or hardwood floor strips that are a warm brown. As for the floor, it would be better to cover it with another covering, such as ceramic, in the same colors as the chosen wood. This will balance the look.

This trend works well in a variety of settings, but we have to admit that it works particularly well in 50's inspired homes.

Black in the children's rooms

Bright colors are usually used in children's rooms. Often, parents choose to avoid darker colors. However, black is becoming more and more popular in children's rooms.

Combined with green, red, mauve or yellow, black stands out wonderfully! And there's nothing demoralizing about it, on the contrary! It brings a lovely contrast.

For example, you could opt for a car-shaped bed (all black, like a silhouette), a black accent wall (paint or wallpaper), black blinds or curtains, an ebony-colored rug and pillows…

The idea is to go sparingly and remember to combine black with vibrant colors.

Jungle atmospheres

Decorations that look like they came straight out of a house in the south of the planet are becoming more and more popular. The idea behind this trend is to create an exotic chic ambiance. Although it won't inspire fall here, you'll be amazed at the warmth of the atmosphere.

To achieve this, we choose wooden furniture, we multiply the pots of plants with large leaves (a bit like those we would find in a jungle) and we color the walls with a sunny yellow, a lime green or a burnt orange. The accessories should also be in these colors.

On the floor, the two-color tile, for example black and white will perfectly support the decor. However, you can also opt for a beige full wall carpet.

The black birch

Increasingly used in furniture making, black birch is a highly sought after material. It has a smooth, matte finish that is a far cry from the glossy effect (which is less in vogue).

It can be a chest of drawers with a concave handle, an elephant bed base or a cabinet with a grey checkered insert. Black birch brings a lot of chic and presence to a room.

The naive drawings

You have probably already noticed the trend of naive drawings in the stores specialized in decoration. They are often found as prints in paintings or on bedding.

They fit perfectly into a fall mood, especially if you choose these naive accessories in shades of orange, brown and wine red.

As a base in a bedroom, you could, for example, put a dark wood floor covering, a cream comforter and a macramé-style rope rug. Then hang a naive painting or two on the walls and drop a few decorative naive-style pillows on your bed.

These 6 trends are sure to help you transform your home this fall to make it even more welcoming.
